Our primary aim is to encourage young people to play and enjoy rugby
All our Coaches have obtained (or are in the course of obtaining) the required elements for the UKCC Level 1 Coaching Rugby.
Our Coaches and other helpers are all unpaid volunteers.
Parents are encouraged to help with Club activities and to support the players at all times. While the Club will train players during the allotted hours for training and supervise teams against other Clubs. It is the Parents responsibility to ensure that their Child is left in the custody of his/her coach and that the child is picked up at the agreed time at the end of a training session or match and that the Coach is informed by the parents that their child has been uplifted.
GWRFC Mini's Section operates under SRU guidelines for child protection and adheres to the SRU's developing procedures.
The mini section has been established to promote rugby to children aged 5 to 11 (P1 to P7 inclusive). It is a part of one of the oldest clubs in Scottish Rugby and has been around since 1982, the Club itself since 1873.
The Youth section takes them from S1 up to U16?s.
The sport is built by progression - where children are taught to play only certain aspects of the game at each stage, this enables them to learn to communicate and build confidence within themselves.
