The Proposal
The plans for the new Clubhouse include:
- 6 large changing rooms, each with their own toilet and shower facilities
- a referees room
- a physio /gym / rehabilitation facility
- a social area on the first floor which is capable of sub-division giving it great flexibility to host functions
- both large and small viewing terraces over both the pitches
- full disabled access and facilities, including a lift
Fundraising
The major portion of the funds (£700,000) have been raised through the sale of the redundant tennis court at the Octavia Terrace with a significant contribution also granted by SportScotland (£200,000). HOWEVER...........It is key to the development proceeding that the club members get behind the project from a fundraising perspective - and a club fundraising target has been set at £50,000. To date we have raised over £30,000. This target has been allocated across all sections of the club as shown below, and it can be seen that many sections have delivered. Some other sections have made a slower start !
Message from the Clubhouse Development Committee
The old clubhouse has now been demolished and we are now at the very exciting stage where the new construction has begun and our target for completion is Christmas 2007.
Interim / temporary arrangements for changing have been arranged with The Royal West Boat Club to whom we are really grateful. The absolute key now is for fundraising to continue - we have already incurred significant costs so getting some cash into the club raised funds kitty soonest is paramount.............so whatever section of the club you are most involved in do support or better still organise something yourself - YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT !
